NEW YORK, August 1, 2014 — Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MMC) announced today that President and CEO Dan Glaser has been named Chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance (FACI). Mr. Glaser’s appointment was announced today by Federal Insurance Office (FIO) Director Michael McRaith.

FACI was formed by the U.S. Department of Treasury in 2011 to provide advice to the FIO, which was created under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. “I am honored to have been asked to chair the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance,” said Mr. Glaser. “The Committee is presented with a number of important domestic and international policy matters, and I look forward to working with Director McRaith and my fellow members to address these important issues on behalf of our industry and the public.”

Mr. Glaser is a 32-year veteran of the insurance industry; he began his career as a broker at Marsh in 1982. Prior to assuming his current role at the beginning of 2013, he was Group President and Chief Operating Officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies from April 2011. Before that, Mr. Glaser served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh Inc. He rejoined Marsh in December 2007, after serving in key leadership positions in commercial insurance and insurance brokerage in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
